Rebekah and Calvin | Stillwater, OK Engagement

Rebekah and Calvin, from Agra, met me in Stillwater at Boomer Lake for their engagement portraits.

The evening started on one side of the lake, surrounded by ducks and beautiful, calm water reflected from the blue, cloudless sky. As the sun started to set, we walked to the other side of the lake- and talk about perfect timing. The sun was just at the horizon and was radiating with a strong, yellow glow in a perfect circle. We have many wonderful sunsets in Oklahoma, but this wasn’t the average colorful sunset. It was just the sun. And wow. It was brilliant.

A thanks to Rebekah and Calvin for being willing to walk a little further, and stay a little later, to capture a final few. In doing so, we met a kind old soul who was very excited about having his photo taken with me (why me? lol) – well, that’s what I originally thought since his English vocabulary was limited to ‘China.’ We engaged in several hand signs as the dark surrounded us, replaced his dead battery with mine… and in the end, we concluded his goal was to have a photo with me and my looooooong lens. Check out our new, smiley friend at the end of this post. What a delightful man he was. Wish I knew his name…
